SG TRANSIT ACCESS

THE 45-MINUTE CITY

Can you get to work in 45 minutes?

The Land Transport Master Plan 2040 sets a target: a door-to-door trip in the morning peak takes 45 minutes or less. This page measures that target for every home in Singapore, with real bus and train data.

METHOD

How it works

  • ROUTES Trains use the LTA timetable. Buses use the LTA morning-peak frequency and the scheduled speed of each route × 0.86.
  • HOMES Census 2020 residents, placed on the URA Master Plan 2025 homes in 250 m hexagons.
  • JOBS Census 2020 workers by place of work, placed on offices, shops, factories and other land use.
  • TIME Departures every 5 minutes from 06:30 to 08:30. Walking at 1.2 m/s, 1.3 × the straight line. The scores are the mean of runs with different bus start times.
  • LIMITS Walks use straight lines, not footpaths. Bus speed in the peak is an estimate. Jobs count resident workers only.
